E-COMP, A Division of Granite Insurance Brokers is an independent agency that is looking for an Assistant Account Manager with experience working in an office setting who possesses strong administrative and computer skills, demonstrates initiative and the ability to work well with others in a team setting. This position will assist the E-COMP Service department and work collaboratively with fellow team members to achieve department goals.

Summary of Position:

As part of E-COMP’s Service team you will be working to provide customers with timely and quality service, supporting the company’s national pay-as-you-go workers’ compensation program with a strong focus on customer retention.  You will be reviewing and accurately troubleshooting client service needs and assisting in the management of our clients’ insurance policies. On an as needed basis, you will also participate in various department or customer related projects. Your expertise within the workers’ compensation will grow quickly, learning the various rules and regulations that apply to each state that E-COMP writes business in.  You’ll collaborate with team members in sales, operations, and accounting on a regular basis.  Key Elements of this position include:

  • Receive and initiate client communication with in-force policy holders on a daily basis, including phone calls and emails
  • Process change requests and communicate with workers’ compensation policy holders and insurance carriers, as needed.
  • Help clients who have audit and billing questions
  • Proactively manage renewals and re-marketing of accounts
  • Work with our processing team to make sure that renewals, cancellations and change requests were processed accurately
  • Work with existing clients to ensure coverage adequacy, and answer questions regarding exposure, premiums, and coverages
  • Document and update agency management system using Applied EPIC and Agency’s propriety pay-go software
  • Become an expert with all things workers’ compensation
  • Provide back up for co-workers within the department, as needed

Qualifications and Skills

  • 2+ years working in insurance customer service
  • P&C license required
  • Experience using a variety of software platforms.  Applied EPIC experience a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail in everything you do: Customer and policy information needs to be sorted and properly handled
  • Confident and works with a positive “can do” attitude within a fast-paced environment and you have the ability to multi-task, prioritizing demands and manage time effectively
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a drive to do what it takes to keep your customers happy
  • Ability to handle interruptions – they happen all of the time in our business
  • Personal standard for excellence: a proven track record of demonstrated capacity to produce work with few/no errors
  • Customer focus; ability to service with a smile service and resolve the occasional customer issues with ease
  • Embrace change and have a strong process orientation and interest in finding better ways to do things

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

  • Work in office setting cognizant of social distancing and COVID-19 safety protocols
  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks
  • Occasionally stand/walk, write by hand, use of telephone, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh 11-20 pounds
